Abstract: School exceeds Title 24 (2001) by 20%; geothermal ground source heat pump system to heat and cool building, central boiler; low VOC materials and finishes; materials with high recycled content (steel frame, fly ash content concrete, etc.); dedicated recycling area; low-flow water fixtures; skylights and daylit classrooms with lightshelves; operable windows; stormwater controls and settling basins to promote ground water recharge; building bermed into sloped site to minimize visual impact and maximize thermal energy properties of the earth; native plants utilized; minimal earth relocation.
