Title: Decibel Dilemma
Abstract: After students read the EHP article "Decibel Hell: The Effects of Living in a Noisy World" they will track sound exposures over the course of a day. Students will graph their own data as well as the class data to better understand statistical concepts (mean and normal distribution) and then make a preliminary judgment about whether or not they are at risk for hearing loss. Students are also asked to analyze potential problems with the methods used in collecting the data.
